HourTime Show Podcast Episode 4 - Tourbillons, Dos/Don’ts, Holiday Shopping + a Contest! Giveaways HourTime Show

Episode 4 of the quickly growing HourTime watch chat podcast show is up. This time we talk about why all the fuss with tourbillon watches, dos and don’ts with watch wearing, and the beginning of our holiday watch buying tips.

We start out with learning about what tourbillons are, what they do, why they exist, then why they were “forgotten” for years and years and their sudden comeback. Then we get into why wear a watch at all – not the same as checking the time on your cell phone. Wearing a watch on the underside of your wrist is a topic. Next, fake watches, don’t get us started! Wearing your watch at the gym? Then, we talk about the watch industry and watch news (where do you get your watch news).

The Holidays are coming up, so where should you go to buy your watches for gifts? We share some tips on what to look for when buying online.

The motion boasts 90 hours of power reserve, an impressive achievement compared to the 42 hours of an ETA or a Soprod. A bidirectional translucent rotor (which will never conceal the perspective of the specialized components, since the counterweight is located round the rotor) winds the only barrel. Once again, such a detail is generally only found in nice, expensive watches. Last but not least, Swatch Watches Sale Usa says it has an accuracy of +/- 7 seconds per a day, a rate that is actually quite near COSC chronometer demands (-4/+6 seconds per a day). The main question that remains concerning the Swatch Sistem51 is all about its reliability. Far be it from us to worry that the motion will not be solid or accurate, but imagine if a problem should arise? The balance wheel and escapement mechanism can’t be adjusted. We’re imagining that people will do exactly the same as they did if they ran into issues with the quartz Swatch: considering the price, simply replace it! It would be more expensive to repair it anyway. That is definitely something we aren’t used to, especially because we love vintage watches and restoring our old beauties. But it might be the future. The Sistem51 includes the attributes of more expensive timepieces. It’s an impressive accuracy and power reserve, but also a fast date (which will change directly at midnight and which you can fix through the next place of the crown, without changing the time) plus a hacking instant mechanism (the second hand stops when pulling the crown, to finely adjust time). The last feature, which might sound unimportant, is that it can be wound by the crown. Just keep in mind that some older and very cheap Seiko watches did not have such a device. In its physical appearance, the Sistem51 is a simple three-hand watch with date, but a more complicated one by virtue of its movement and attributes.

Also, HourTimeShow.com is giving away a free Automatic Chrono Swatch Watch. You’ll need to listen to the show and comment for a chance to win one (very neat watches by the way).
